Advancing Research, Writing and AI Literacy: Highlights from the CUHK Postgraduate Research & Learning Symposium 2026
The CUHK Postgraduate Research & Learning Symposium 2026, jointly organised by CUHK Graduate School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library and the Independent Learning Centre, concluded successfully on 23–24 April 2026. We were delighted to welcome over 90 postgraduate students from both the Shatin and Shenzhen campuses!
This year featured an exciting range of sessions, covering topics from real-world manuscript preparation journeys and crafting dissertation introductions, to writing systematic reviews for publication, developing compelling research papers, and academic writing across disciplines including mathematics, medicine and science. Participants also explored how to deliver impactful oral presentations.
We also delved into the growing role of AI in research — including smart literature search, ethical use, and resource discovery — as well as Artificial Intelligence in Chinese Academic Writing. These sessions sparked insightful discussions on how AI is shaping the future of academic work.
Beyond the sessions, meaningful exchanges took place during coffee breaks , networking lunches, and lively Q&A sessions — where new ideas were sparked, collaborations began to take shape, and cross-disciplinary connections were formed.
A heartfelt thank you to our distinguished speakers for making the 3rd Postgraduate Symposium a truly memorable event.
