Graduate School Welcomes SURP 2026 Participants from Around the World

The Graduate School was delighted to join the Office of Academic Links in welcoming over 180 participants of the Summer Undergraduate Research Programme (SURP) 2026 from different parts of the world to explore and conduct research attachments at CUHK.

On behalf of the Graduate School, Professor Pang-Chui SHAW, Acting Dean and Master of Postgraduate Halls, delivered a lunch talk introducing the diverse postgraduate study options at CUHK and sharing insights into the University’s vibrant research environment.

Organised by the Office of Academic Links, SURP is an institutional initiative to promote internationalisation at CUHK. It provides an opportunity for undergraduate students from overseas universities to undertake an eight-week research attachment at CUHK under the supervision of a CUHK faculty member. The session was further enriched by the inspiring personal research journeys shared by Professor Shing Shin Cheng and Professor Claire Zhong, offering participants valuable insights into life as a researcher and academic at CUHK.

We hope the programme inspires the next generation of researchers and look forward to welcoming many of these talented students back to CUHK for their postgraduate studies in the future.
