With the generous support of the HKPFS, I found a thriving home at the Faculty of Arts. The comprehensive library resources and conference funding empower my work. Coupled with global exchange opportunities and a broad interdisciplinary vision, CUHK fosters an inspiring environment for my humanities research in translation.

The multidirectional, trend-aligned, and individually tailored guidance of the music faculty uniquely advanced my doctoral project. Their exceptional mentorship enabled me to develop an article manuscript and a book proposal within my first semester. I am truly grateful to my supervisor and the faculty members.

At CUHK Linguistics, I receive exceptionally thoughtful supervision that guides both my independent research and daily scholarly practice. I learn extensively from lab mates and work beyond my own. I must also highlight the rigorous PhD-level courses that expose me to diverse faculty and peers, and deepen my theoretical training across traditions.

My PhD at CUHK has been deeply rewarding, thanks to dedicated academic and administrative staff. I was empowered to think critically and creatively, pursuing interdisciplinary research with real impact. Access to world-class platforms and resources enabled me to present my work globally—from East Asia to Europe and North America.

Pursuing my PhD in History at CUHK has been immensely rewarding, with dedicated faculty support and rich resources enhancing my research on Song dynasty China. The productive environment has boosted my publications and conference engagements, fostering interdisciplinary insights in political and intellectual history.

Pursuing my PhD in the History Department at CUHK has been both liberating and fulfilling. Faculty members actively encourage students to explore their own research interests while providing practical support. The library houses unique historical collections, and substantial funding from Graduate School enables overseas exchanges and international conferences. The serene campus offers a tranquil space for reflection and intellectual connection.

The HKPFS has enabled me to advance interdisciplinary research in Blue Humanities and Pacific environmental literature, examining transnational Pacific ecologies, toxicity, and climate crisis narratives. Through international conference presentations and forthcoming publications, I am developing a globally engaged research agenda that bridges literary studies and environmental thought.

The HKPFS is an immensely ambitious initiative to attract the “best and brightest” students and train them to become the educators and researchers of the future. I am honoured to be part of this community as a recipient of the generous fellowship and am currently working to give back to the society that made it all possible.

During my PhD supported by the HKPFS, I was trained by world-class professors to become an independent researcher and a quality global citizen. I had an opportunity to meet excellent friends who are now renowned in their careers. I made the right decision to pursue my PhD at CUHK.

The guidance and mentorship of the faculty members of CUHK, and their willingness to engage in academic discussions created a conducive learning environment.  The diverse range of learning activities provided ample opportunities to explore different perspectives and the latest developments in the field.
