Course Code: Subject Area & Catalogue Number
  • Course Codes consist of two components: Subject Area Code and Catalogue Number. For instance, in MATH5001, "MATH" represents the Subject Area Code, while "5001" is the Catalogue Number.
Class Section
  • A Class Section denotes a specific class offered under a course. For example, course HIST5010 might have two sections, A & B, scheduled at different times and taught by different instructors. Students may not enrol in multiple sections of the same course within a single term.
Class Number
  • The Class Number is a unique identifier assigned by the system to each class offered in a term. It differs from the Catalogue Number. For instance, RELS5001A and RELS5001B, both offered in 2011-12 Term 1, might have class numbers "1234" and "5432" respectively.
Shopping Cart
  • Course selection in CUSIS is similar to online shopping. Browse available classes and add desired courses to your Shopping Cart. To complete enrolment, you must "check-out" your selections.
My Requirements
  • You should select courses within your Study Scheme, unless approved otherwise by your Programme. In CUSIS, courses within your Study Scheme are listed under "My Requirements". To choose courses outside your Study Scheme, submit Form CS-1 (Appendix A) to the relevant Graduate Divisions/Programmes for approval.
Enrolment Appointments
  • Enrolment Appointments are designated timeslots during which you can submit your shopping cart and complete course enrolment via CUSIS.

  • Question!!
How do I check my enrolment appointment? (Answer)
Mock Course Registration Period (also known as Enrolment Validation Period)
  • During this period, you can validate courses in your shopping cart to check for time conflicts, fulfilment of requisites, and term study load, etc.
Enrolment Requirements
  • Enrolment requirements are the selection criteria for a class/course. The system verifies that you have met all enrolment requirements when you submit your shopping cart for validation or course enrolment.
