Orientation Programme for New Taught Postgraduate Students 2019

Dear students,


Welcome to the Chinese University of Hong Kong!


As you are about to embark on a new journey of your life in the form of postgraduate study, you must be going through a period of both excitement and uncertainty. To assist you in your adjustment, the University is ready to help you navigate through the opportunities and challenges in the course of your studies here.


Familiarising yourself with the University plays a vital role in your future success in postgraduate study. Our tailor-made orientation programme for new students in taught programmes is a joint effort made by the Office of Student Affairs and many other university units. The programme consists of a series of orientation talks (23 August 2019) as well as guided library tours (26 & 27 August 2019), which will allow you to receive relevant information and plan ahead. You will also be able to meet fellow and senior students.  For our non-local students, you may find the programme more helpful with the useful information about studying and living in Hong Kong.

The two student associations –the Postgraduate Student Association of CUHK and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, CUHKwill also organise an orientation camp for new taught postgraduate students in late August. The camp, in the format of day camp, consists of various activities such as ice-breaking games, campus hunt, city hunt and a welcome dinner.
