Hong Kong really acts as a gateway both into China for foreign firms, but also as a gateway to the world for Chinese firms. Coupling that with the special relationship of Hong Kong with China and the rest of the world, I think it's an incredibly strong place to be situated in, in order to kickstart a career in the data field. 

Commencing my PhD journey at CUHK has been transformative, significantly enhancing my research, critical thinking, and leadership skills. With the unwavering support of the Nethersole School of Nursing and its outstanding professors, I have gained access to diverse academic resources and hands-on experiences, laying a solid foundation for my future. 

I am grateful for my supervisors’ tremendous support and the inspiring research environment in the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics. As a Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme awardee 2016–2017, I was encouraged to pursue impactful research, which motivated me to continue my careerhere, progressing from a PhD student to a postdoctoral researcher and now a faculty member.

My PhD journey at CUHK has been incredibly rewarding.
