To broaden academic horizons, eight UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong (CityU, CUHK, EdUHK, HKBU, HKU, HKUST, LU and PolyU) have established a collaborative scheme for sharing research postgraduate courses. Interested students should carefully review the following information and follow the specific procedures and deadlines set by each participating university for course enrolment.

Postgraduate students of research programmes from CityU, EdUHK, HKBU, HKU, HKUST, LU and PolyU who want to enrol in CUHK courses

2025-26, Term 2

CUHK's second teaching term 2025-26 begins on 5 January 2026. Please note the following:

1. Choose CUHK course(s) from the List of Courses offered by CUHK (2025-26, Term 2). Review the teaching timetable for date/time/venue details. Note that these are subject to change. If accepted, recheck the timetable before classes start.

2. Fill out the Online Application Form for Cross-institutional Course/Subject Enrolment for Research Postgraduate Students. (Please make sure the inputted email address is correct and valid to receive the acknowledgement email.)

   You will receive an acknowledgement email and a separate email with the pre-filled Application form. (Check your junk folder if necessary.)

   Submit the Application form to your home institution's responsible office by their specified deadline. 

   It must reach CUHK's Graduate School via your home institution by 19 December 2025. Late applications are typically not accepted.

3. You will be informed of the application result by email no later than 2 January 2026.
4. Course add/drop is only allowed within the first two weeks of the term, i.e., 5-19 January 2026 for 2025-26, Term 2.

CUHK postgraduate students of research programmes who want to enrol in courses offered by other participating universities 
 

Application procedures:

1. Check the websites of relevant universities for detailed information:
    

2025-26, Term 2

2. Complete the Online Application Form for Cross-institutional Course/Subject Enrolment for Research Postgraduate Students. Ensure your email address is correct to receive confirmation. You will receive an acknowledgement email (check spam folder) and a separate email with:

• Pre-filled Application form; and
• Pre-filled Approval form for Cross-institutional Course Enrolment (one form for one university you wish to attend).

Obtain approval from your Supervisor and Division Head (Section C) on the Approval form.

3. The Application form and the Approval form (endorsed by the Division) must be submitted to the Graduate School Office via the respective Graduate Divisions as soon as  they are completed, and at least THREE working days before the deadline set by the host university  as specified above. Late applications will not be accepted.
    
4. The host university will notify you of the application outcome.

Course and unit exemptions for CUHK postgraduate students:

Upon course completion, you'll receive an academic report from the host university. To apply for course and unit exemption, pay the required fee and submit the exemption application form with relevant documents to your Division Head for endorsement, then to the Graduate School for approval.
