2025 Greater Bay Area Graduate Research Forum
"Continuous Learning & Innovative Research"

Building on the success of 2024 CUHK(Shenzhen)-CUHK Joint Graduate Research Forum, this year’s Forum has grown in scale to welcome participation from postgraduate students at CUHK, CUHK(Shenzhen), Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Southern University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau, and Southern Medical University.

This joint forum provides a dynamic platform for postgraduate students from all participating universities in the Greater Bay Area to share their research findings and engage in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary academic exchange and further cultivate meaningful collaboration and academic connections among research groups. By fostering an environment for interdisciplinary communication and collaboration, the event aims to broaden the research horizons of the participating students and enhance their overall quality of research.

Target: All postgraduate students of participating universities

Students are welcome to take part in (1) Academic Poster Exhibition and/or (2) Oral Presentation listed below. All submission will be reviewed by an academic panel.

Activities:

Activity 1 - Academic Poster Exhibition

Participating students are required to submit ONE poster based on their research work by 3 October (Friday). Each participant can only submit ONE poster for the entry, and the poster uploaded to the system will be treated as the final submission for assessment by the panel.

Poster Specifications:

• 120 (H) x 90cm (W)
• PDF file in 150 dpi
• Layout Orientation: Portrait
• Language: English
  

Applications which fail to follow the above specifications will be disqualified without prior notice.

Registration Deadline: 11:59 pm, 30 August 2025 (Saturday)

Poster Submission Deadline: 5:30 pm, 3 October 2025 (Friday)

• Detailed submission procedures will be sent to the registrants in a separate email in September.

Online Voting Period: 20 – 22 October 2025

• The shortlisted academic posters will be exhibited for public voting at CUHK (Shenzhen) from 20 October to 1 November. They will also be available for online voting via CUHK(Shenzhen)’s official website from 20 to 22 October. The voting deadline will be 5:30pm, 22 October.
• Award results will be determined based on the combined results of online and on-site public voting (30% of the total score) and expert evaluation (70% of the total score).
• Results will be announced on 28 October. The awardees will be invited to attend the award ceremony held at CUHK(Shenzhen) on 1 November (Saturday).
  

Awards:

• 1st place x 6: RMB 640 cash voucher
• 2nd place x 10: RMB 480 cash voucher
• 3rd place x 14: RMB 320 cash voucher

Remarks:

• The awardees will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony on 1 November 2025 (Saturday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm).
• Same-day round-trip transportation between CUHK and CUHK(Shenzhen) campuses will be provided, along with lunch, coffee break, and dinner. The return trip will depart from the CUHK(Shenzhen) campus right after the Award Ceremony-cum-Dinner.
• The awardees are required to arrange a valid visa on their own if visas are needed to enter China.
  

Activity 2 – Academic Oral Presentation
Date: 1 November 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm
Venue: CUHK(Shenzhen) Campus

Participating students are required to prepare a 10-minute PPT file on 3 October (Friday) based on their research work. Shortlisted participants will be invited to present their work to a panel of judges on 1 November (Saturday) on the CUHK(Shenzhen) campus. Presentations will be divided into two parallel sessions, namely “Humanities & Social Sciences” and “Science & Engineering”.

PPT Specifications:

• All submitted files should be either in the format of .ppt or .pptx.
• Language: English
• No audio/video files are allowed in the PPT.

• 2nd place x 2 for each panel: RMB 1,600 cash voucher
• 3rd place x 3 for each panel: RMB 800 cash voucher

Remarks:

• The shortlisted participants will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony which will be held on the same day (6:30pm – 8:30pm) right after the Oral Presentation.
• Same-day round-trip transportation between CUHK and CUHK(Shenzhen) campuses will be provided, along with lunch, coffee break, and dinner. The return trip will depart from the CUHK(Shenzhen) campus right after the Award Ceremony-cum-Dinner.
