The Joint Centre for Advanced Study (JCAS)

In response to UGC’s initiative in the development of strategic alliances and deep collaboration in higher education, the Joint Centre for Advanced Study (JCAS) is a joint effort among The University of Hong Kong (HKU), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in developing greater cooperation and deeper collaboration.

 

The aims of JCAS are to make more efficient use of resources and to broaden the range of choices for students; provide students with access to the combined strengths of the academic staff of all three institutions; provide opportunities for greater interaction and collaboration among the staff and students of the three universities; and engage in such other jointly sponsored activities to enrich their respective programmes as may be necessary to enhance the competitiveness of research postgraduate programmes.

 

 

Eligibility

Research postgraduate students of the three universities.

 

 

Application procedures

Students who are interested to join this Scheme should approach the departments of their home institutions for course registration details. For enrollment for courses that are not hosted by the student’s home institution, the student should complete the student record form and submit it to the Graduate School of the home institution.

 

 

Course results

The course(s) registered will be shown on the transcripts of the students.
